Two distinct looks in one beautifully crafted placemat. Handwoven in the Philippines, our new natural woven, reversible placemats pair natural texture with rich colour, giving you more ways to dress your table.

The making begins with leaves gathered and prepared by the weavers. They are stripped, boiled to lighten their natural colour, then dried and individually dyed before being woven into mats. The woven material is carefully cut and sewn into placemats, with a different design on each side. A protective coating helps protect the surface and adds a subtle sheen.

The weaving technique has its roots in traditional sleeping mats, which were spread across the floor in rural homes and rolled away each morning. These placemats bring that craft to the table in an autumn palette of greens, reds, rusts, purples and deep blues.

Layer them over a favourite tablecloth or let their woven texture stand out against a bare wooden table. Simply turn them over to change your colour pairing or the mood of your setting.

Each placemat is handmade from natural material. Slight variations in colour are part of its character: some leaves absorb the dye more deeply, creating richer tones, while others remain softer and more muted.
